Do you know what responsibility is all about \u2013 do you even know what it means<\/i>?<\/h3>\n

It means being the person who is in a position to answer a question \u2013 being the human who would respond (who would give a response) if \/ when someone (presumably another human) were to ask.<\/h3>\n

It doesn’t mean belittling<\/i> someone who asks a question.<\/h3>\n

It means participating \u2013 at the very least offering to help find an answer.<\/h3>\n

It doesn’t mean knowing<\/i> the answer.<\/h3>\n

No-one expects anyone to know any answers… \u2013 guessing is fine.<\/h3>\n

What is less<\/i> fine is acting like you aren’t responsible when you should<\/i> be.<\/h3>\n

If you pretend to care about something, then you need to do something about it, and a very good first step would be to become aware that you might be responsible<\/i> for it.<\/h3>\n

Let me give you an example. If someone does something that you consider wrong, then what should you do? Should you simply turn your head, look the other way and pretend it never happened? Or should you respond in some way?<\/h3>\n

Another example: Let’s say you consider something someone does to be somehow beautiful. Should you just look and remain absolutely quiet? Or should you, could you, perhaps do something like, maybe, say \u201ethank you\u201c?<\/h3>\n

As an exercise, I invite you to think of another example you could, hypothetically, consider actually doing<\/em> sometime… such as to participate and \/ or engage in an act of social expression<\/a>.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
