Project Tomorrow is a national education nonprofit organization, certified by the IRS and the State of California as a 501.c.3 nonprofit organization, with a 16 year history of impacting education. As a nonprofit organization we are driven by an altruistic mission and vision for changing the lives of children through science, math and technology education.
The vision of Project Tomorrow is ensure that today’s students are well prepared to be tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and engaged citizens of the world. We believe that by supporting the innovative uses of science, math and technology resources in our K-12 schools and communities, students will develop the critical thinking, problem solving and creativity skills needed to compete and thrive in the 21st century. We approach our mission through national research projects, the replication of model excellence projects in schools and communities, online tools and resources for students, teachers and parents, and national and regional advocacy efforts. In September 2005, NetDay, a national education technology nonprofit group, merged with a regional science education nonprofit to create the new Project Tomorrow.
Project Tomorrow is governed by a dedicated and thoughtful national Board of Directors who bring to our organization a variety of strengths and resources from the business, education, youth development, scientific, public policy and media sectors. Our funding includes a mix of foundation grants, federal funding, corporate sponsorship and revenue derived from our evaluation projects. Over 85% of our annual income is used to directly impact children and schools, and for our investors (including private and public foundations) this statistic is very important to them. We are very effective in terms of partnership development and leverage collaborations to help us with promoting our services and programs. We are incredibly frugal with our overhead expenses so as to ensure that the philanthropic dollars that are granted to us directly address our mission (via moser). In fact, we are well recognized within our sector for the quality and depth of our work given a small operating budget; this is a reflection of working smart, being a good partner, and managing our programs very effectively.

Time
The WWW Clock is a simple web page embedded with the current time that refreshes itself once every minute. There are no messy Java applets or open streams downloading continuous animated gifs. The time is inserted by the web server which is synchonized via the NTP time protocol to a master time server (which is why the clock on your computer may not show the exact same time). Once the WWW Clock web page has been loaded into a browser, it reloads itself every 60 seconds, pulling down a new page with the updated time. The time is inserted into the web page using something called PHP which, if it can ever be figured out by mere mortals, can do some really neat other stuff as well.

Many people know a lot about the world we live in, but almost nothing about our neighbourhood in space. Sun.org believes it’s important to understand what the universe looks like and which are its main processes. For thousands of years, some of the most fundamental questions were: what is the world made of, where do we come from and what’s the meaning behind the strange movements of these little dots of light in the night sky? Today we are able to answer these questions; we are able to trace down the origin of the atoms in our own body to nuclear fusion in the stars and their distribution in space through supernova and planetary nebulae. We are able to understand how the basis of our existence, the Sun, the Earth and all the other planets originated; we can even observe the same processes today with our own eyes as many other stars are currently being born in the same way that our Sun and Earth were born 4.6 billion years ago.
Any great Greek thinker would have given everything to obtain this knowledge… and today that we are able to answer all these questions in detail, it seems that many people are not asking these fundamental questions any more. It is our aim to increase interest in this subject, with the help of the many beautiful images we have today of the cosmos.
We are a small team of people that share a passion for exploring the universe, for the pure fascination or for a better understanding of our part within the universe.
